National Social Work Week 2008
The Association of Social Workers in Northern Canada would like to
recognize the contributions of all social workers in the Northwest
Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. The theme for this year is Human
Rights in a Diverse Community. Social Work Week gives social
workers in communities across all three territories an opportunity to
celebrate our social ideals and values, and continue our efforts to
make a difference.

2007 ASWNC AGM and Conference
Making a Difference in Children's Lives
On behalf of the ASWNC board, I would like to send my appreciation
to the Yukon association members for successfully hosting the annual
Conference and AGM in Whitehorse. It was a busy weekend for
delegates traveling from the NWT and Nunavut to take in sessions with
Dr. Michael Ungar, the Canadian Association of Social Workers, and
one of our own association members; Sheila Sauteur-Chadwick.
The CASW also held their quarterly board meeting in conjunction with
our conference, and representatives from across Canada were treated
to Northern hospitality and entertainment.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Please plan to join us in Yellowknife, October 3 &4, 2008 for next
years ASWNC Conference and AGM!
